Introduction of the "Georgette" Brand
Welcome to the captivating world of Georgette, an exceptional brand that transcends the mere functional aspect of cutlery to create an artistic experience within your dining space. Georgette, a versatile tableware, facilitates the handling, mixing, and cutting of food without directly resorting to hands. This innovative utensil presents a harmonious combination of spoon, fork, and knife functionalities, providing a practical and hybrid culinary experience.
Brief History of the Creation of the Versatile Cutlery
Jean Louis Orengo, a naturalist ichnologist and adventurer, is the creator of Georgette, a cutlery whose distinctive shape is inspired by observing traces of wild animals. The idea originated during an expedition in the Canadian Arctic 27 years ago when the creator realized the need for a hybrid cutlery, having brought only a spoon to lighten the load, missing a fork. By studying animal paws and the human hand, he designed Georgette to reflect the adaptability of wild animal paws, including otters, bears, wolves, and humans. Although the idea germinated 27 years ago, Georgette was created 15 years ago, requiring the creator's perseverance to make the project a success. The name "Georgette" was chosen simply because it is a distinctly French name for cutlery with feminine shapes.
Features of Georgette Cutlery
Innovative Design and Features
True to its commitment to excellence, Georgette uses the highest quality materials for its cutlery. Georgette cutlery is primarily made of 18/10 stainless steel, an alloy renowned for its corrosion resistance and exceptional durability. This material not only ensures increased longevity but also provides a smooth and elegant finish. Exploring variants with metal or titanium touches, Georgette pushes the boundaries of innovation, creating unique pieces that marry functionality, aesthetics, and superior quality.
Georgette is an ergonomic cutlery with an elegant design, combining the functions of a fork with its 4 prongs, a spoon with its concave part, and featuring a sharp edge for cutting most foods.
Versatility of Use
It offers a variety of possibilities. At the table, it allows for eating solid foods and sauces together, such as picking up a piece of meat and taking some vegetables and juice in the same bite.
Furthermore, it allows for easily enjoying starters or desserts, and the 100% plant-based Georgette is ideal for tasting your verrines.
Manufacturing Process
Georgette Company's Quality Commitment
The manufacturing of a classic GEORGETTE involves a craftsmanship process that requires over 20 steps. The first step is cutting a 3mm thick stainless steel plate into the desired shape. Subsequently, the plate is machined on a series of different machine tools, such as milling machines, drills, and polishers. At each stage, each GEORGETTE or group of GEORGETTE is held or positioned by hand for exceptional craftsmanship.
The Adventure matte or glossy models in 18/0 stainless steel are made from rolls of 1.8mm thick stainless steel. This reduced thickness allows the use of efficient automated machines, making the manufacturing process faster and more efficient. However, some finishes, such as sanding, are still done by hand to ensure a superior-quality product.
Regarding quality control, GEORGETTE cutlery is inspected in Ariège to ensure remarkable quality.
Social and Environmental Commitment
Georgette is a minimalist tool; we have divided the raw material while multiplying the cutlery. This cutlery helps save water; you wash one Georgette instead of a fork and a spoon. It is lighter to carry and easier to store.
Furthermore, Georgette has launched its biodegradable and compostable model, produced in a Tarbaise company that also produces the raw material needed for the manufacture of our cutlery.
This is a 100% Occitanie production!
This biomaterial, made from biopolymers, plant fibers, and French cereal flours, is suitable for food contact. It is guaranteed free of GMOs, phthalates, Bisphenol A, and endocrine disruptors.
Testimonials and Experiences
Reviews from Chefs
Georgette, the multifunctional cutlery, is increasingly present in restaurants. Renowned chefs like Alain Ducasse, David Descoins, and F Renimel have adopted it. Georgette is also accessible to individuals who want to enjoy its benefits.
Gilles Goujon / Auberge du Vieux Puits (Fontjoncouse)
"GEORGETTE reveals 1000 diverse, mysterious, and unexpected things, sculpted and sharp; it was necessary for it to have this elegance to adapt to the grandest tables! It has become the indispensable companion for our specialty, 'The Rotting Egg.' Our customers are delighted to be able to taste our dishes with an avant-garde cutlery that enhances a table with its elegance and awakens the taste buds!"
Franck Rénimel / Restaurant En Marge (Aureville)
"For me, GEORGETTE was a real crush! We use it at the table of our restaurant because it fits perfectly with the spirit of En Marge, which is to destabilize the clientele, surprise them, amaze them. GEORGETTE is a 'marginal' utensil that perfectly echoes how I envision my cuisine; mix everything on the plate to enjoy it better. GEORGETTE is both a visual and practical favorite."
André Daguin
"GEORGETTE is the first true innovation since the creation of table cutlery centuries ago."
Yves Thuriès
"GEORGETTE enhances the table with its practical design and ecological virtues that make it THE cutlery of the 21st century. This cutlery was a revelation for me, matching my gourmet pleasures."
